About Lion's Den
The name of this blog is inspired by the story of my namesake: Daniel in the Lion's Den.
Hey there, my name is Dan, and this is my blog—Welcome!
In January 2026, I became a lay resident community member at Being Peace, a Buddhist practice centre in the Plum Village tradition. This blog shares my experiences living and practicing in a blossoming Buddhist community.
I'm new to writing, just finding my own style and rhythm, so please bear with me! Pages may change after they've been published—I am my own editor—but new writing on an old post is marked by 'P.S.'. I have also previously written a diary while volunteering in Fiji, called Fiji Times. (Please forgive any spelling/grammatical errors—I will update it some day!)
I also have a YouTube channel, where I make videos playing old versions of Minecraft.
Here's a list of some other things I enjoy:
- Birdwatching
- Books
- Calisthenics
- Coffee
- Ecology
- Fermentation
- Foraging
- Hiking
- Journaling
- Moomins
- Photography
- Veganism
